- 1 1/2 cups long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup Cholula® Original Salsa
- 2 teaspoons Cholula® Original Hot Sauce
- 2 1/2 cups chicken stock, vegetable stock or water
- Salt, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Place rice in fine mesh strainer and rinse under cool water until water runs clear. Drain very well.
- 2 Heat oil in large saucepot on medium heat. Add rice; sauté 3 - 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until rice begins to toast and is lightly browned. Stir in tomato paste, Original Salsa and Original Hot Sauce until well blended.

Increase heat to medium-high. Stir in stock and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork. Season with salt, if desired. Serve hot.
TIPS:
For less saucy rice, use only 3/4 cup of Cholula® Original Salsa. For milder rice, skip the addition of the Cholula® Original Hot Sauce.
Don’t have chicken or vegetable stock on hand? Use 2 1/2 cups of water instead.
Try stirring in 1/2 cup of frozen, thawed peas when you’re ready to fluff the rice. Let stand 5 minutes longer to allow the peas to warm before serving.
